Spreadsheet files stay in your browser
The main Excel tools run locally in your browser. When you select a spreadsheet, JavaScript reads it on your device and creates the result file locally. The public compare, merge, split, dedupe, convert, and batch tools are designed not to upload spreadsheet contents to the server.
Information we collect directly
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit. For security and abuse prevention, the server may also store your IP address, user agent, submission time, and selected language with the contact record.
- We use contact data to respond to your request and protect the site from spam or abuse.
- Do not include confidential spreadsheet data in the contact form.
- You may request deletion of contact-form data by emailing [email protected].
Google Analytics and Google AdSense
With your consent, xlstools may load Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, browser data, page URLs, and interaction data to provide measurement, prevent fraud, cap frequency, personalize ads where allowed, and serve contextual or personalized advertising.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies on your browser.
- Google may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites when personalized ads are allowed.
- You can manage Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com/ and learn about Google data use at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent choices
Google advertising and analytics storage are denied by default until you choose to accept them in the privacy choices banner. If you reject, the site keeps the tools available and does not intentionally load Google Analytics or AdSense scripts for that browser session state. You can clear your browser storage or use the privacy choices control to choose again.
Cookies and local storage
xlstools may use essential cookies or local storage for language preferences, privacy choices, and normal site functionality. Google products may use cookies or similar technologies only according to your consent choice and applicable law.
Data sharing and retention
We do not sell spreadsheet files or contact-form data. Contact records are kept only as long as needed for support, security, and abuse prevention. Google product data is handled according to Google policies and your consent choices.
Children and sensitive data
xlstools is not directed to children and should not be used to submit child-directed data, precise location data, health records, financial hardship data, or other sensitive personal information through the contact form. The tools process files locally, but you remain responsible for the files you choose to open in your browser.
Security
We use HTTPS for the public website and design the spreadsheet tools to avoid server-side file handling. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so keep backups of important files and avoid sharing confidential details in support messages.
